Situation

What property owner doesn't want waterfront access in one of Sydney's prestigious southern suburbs?

But what seemed like a dream was in reality an inaccessible backyard where the owner could only wonder what the fishing was like down below. Due to a rocky and treacherous drop, access was not possible and there seemed little hope of finding a way to install a stairway down the slope.

The owner had tried contacting numerous height safety specialists who were reluctant to take on the job due to its complexity of design and one obvious difficulty; measurements were going to have to be done "on the fly" as it was impossible to obtain all dimensions before commencing the job.

Solution

Finally the owner contacted our height safety installer, Abseil Access, who offered the answer - KOMBI modular stair and platform systems.

Using our interactive KOMBI drawing template, our installer submitted their design to the SAYFA customer service team and, after making some modifications to the original drawings, the final concept was accepted and sent to production.

The challenge of installation was the next thing to be tackled.

As the installation of the KOMBI modular stair and platform system requires no on-site welding, designs can be adjusted easily to suit the exact requirements. Using our patented KOMBI T-Bolt, the components fit together without the need for specialist hand tools, providing a system that is not only strong but fully engineered to ensure the highest standards in safety are being met.

The results speak for themselves and, as for the client, he now has safe access to his waterfront and is living the dream he had planned for.
