OH200 RAPTOR 80 Product Overview Video
Right, welcome to the next new product that we’re going to showcase and that is our RAPTOR 80 section.
So just so that you’re aware of the two different RAPTOR Rail Sections this is what we’re going to refer to as our RAPTOR 130 because that is 130 high and then this is going to be the RAPTOR 80 because that is 80 mm high there.
So the main features of this new section is that it’s compact, it’s a more compact system, lower profile. It has been designed so that we can have a higher point load capability and especially for the situations for glass lifting and all those scenarios that are requested nowadays. It will have a higher load capacity. So existing RAPTOR Rail we can take up to 790 kg that is spread over two trolleys or 490 on a single trolley. We are hoping that this one will increase up to at least 600kg for a single trolley. And that is mainly because of our rail thicknesses. The aluminium extrusion is thicker than than the existing section. So even though it is a smaller profile just for your interest it is actually slightly heavier than the existing RAPTOR section.
So just to recap the main advantages of course is the lower profile section. It will also use all our existing RAPTOR trolleys, so all the standard RAPTOR trolleys that are being used in the current system can also be used in the system. Same with the joiners, same with the T joiner at the top. One of the key changes here though is that we are we don’t need to drill through the rail for any of the connection points.
OK so here’s one of the applications. This show it in it’s upside down configuration which can also be used for a rolling type system for Needles and so on. A couple of things that we have developed with the system, which can also be used on the other system, we have this adjustable aluminium extruded adjustable bracket . So it has the V grooves in here as as well as the mating washer, the mating part here, so wherever that is tightened up that will then lock into place and the slot obviously in engineering terms you’re not normally not allowed to have a slot, but in this case because it locks into place that then gives us the flexibility for adjustment and so on. So that is one of the bracket arrangements here.
The other one which is our standard bracket that’s going to be similar to the U bracket we used to have or still have for the other system, in a suspended situation. So, you’ll notice how we have the various holes. That’s again just for a little bit of adjustment up and down if required. But this system is going to be used with our KOMBI T-Bolt System and it will require four of them. So, the beauty of that is you can see we don’t need any drilling for the mounting of this bracket again giving you flexibility and so on. So we need four bolts, two on that side, two on this side. So that will be attached using the KOMBI T-Bolt System.
OK, so on of the other useful features on this new Rail System is we have these voids, you’ll see this open section here and what that it enables, especially for areas where is going to be used in the soffit area where you have a ceiling coming up to this and they have a bracket or an attachment to the ceiling system, then you can actually screw fix into that side wall so long as it doesn’t penetration here. So whether it’s a small Tek Screw or a rivet or something like that it enables the ceiling system to actually come up right up against the the rail here.
So, we’re hoping to get up to a two and a half metre span that’s for rope access use and probably up to three metre span for general fall arrest use something that’s obviously still undergoing testing as we speak but these all be formatted in when we release the product officially.
